Mug Rugs and Placemats {Swirling}
I am finding these little mug rugs popping up everywhere to be so very inspiring. All kinds of great quilting techniques, free piecing and color combinations - a real feast for the eyes! I've sat down to try my hand at making at least one, but get overwhelmed with the possibilities and end up doing something entirely different. 1. My 1st Mug Rug!, 2. mug rug, 3. saturdays, 4. Mug Rug Swap Round 2 for Emedoodle, 5. pink camper mug rug, 6. Hearts Mug Rug, 7. Red letter day mug rug, 8. flowery mug rug, 9. Ticker tape mug rug Placemats, much like mug rugs, have also been swirling around in my head for some time. I just wish I could decide on fabric and a design! I get so hung up deciding on the 'perfect' pattern and the 'perfect fabrics' that years go by and I still haven't made anything. I could have made and wore out about 3 sets by now! Does that ever happen to you? I do think now that I see that little ticker tape mug rug, that that idea would work so very well for some everyday placemats... I'm tempted to run upstairs right now and try one out, but lucky for the zillion WIPs I have going, I'd need white fabric and I'm STILL waiting for my order to arrive. Tap tap tap on the watch... ~Sara

I love your mug rugs!! Great ideas. I've not made these yet, still so many UFO's, I won't allow myself to start more just for me.
Have a great day, thanks for sharing.
I totally need placemats for the table....i made a batch of mug rugs for the sale in November and my mug sits happily on one of the leftovers as I type this...
They both seem like quickish projects so i can see the temptation to get started, even with UFO's haunting you.
I've been making placemats for wedding gifts, birthday gifts, etc etc but none for me! I need to remedy that!
i am forever stuck in the planning and thinking phases of quilting. there is so much inspiration out there and so much beautiful fabric to be bought and that i already have....i get overwhelmed with trying to figure it out and then i just throw in the towel and don't do anything. ticker tape would be a great use of scraps and would make awesome placemats.
I get trapped in the indecision of finding the "perfect" project! I have been meaning to make some pillows for my couch forever, but I just can't pick which fabrics and pattern should be used. Argh. The indeciveness! ;)
I'll keep my fingers crossed that your fabric will arrive before the weekend (prime sewing time!).
Fabric has arrived, one quilt finished, one quilt top finished and binding cut! Now I have to put it all on hold because I have an exam next Saturday... And as you may be able to tell, I'm behind in that regard!
